I read this and immediately thought hippie. I get you want your child to have their own personality and ways but to not tell family IMO is silly. I might get flamed because people think it's an ok stand point, but even DH who doesn't care about things like that thought it was ridiculous. I don't get how the close friend gets to know but not the grandparents.

I get the annoyance over gender stereotypes. We are "team green" and decided to keep the nursery the lovely light blue it was prior to pregnancy. All i hear is "but what if its a girl?!" I'm a girl. I like blue!
