Babywearing mamas

What are you using with your NB?  I have a Mei Tai, a Baby Bjorn, a Seven Sling and an Ergo Sport (no NB insert though) and the MT and BB both say to use at 8lbs.  So I have to wait.  My Seven Sling says its ok to use at 6lbs but I'm not a huge fan of how he gets immersed in it since he is so small.  What works for you and your LO?

  • I love my k'tan! I just bought the mesh/cotton one and it's great! I'm saving the MT Baby Hawk for when he can hold his head up and is a bit bigger.

I have a Moby wrap and a Boba carrier for when she's older.  I'd really love to get a ring sling from Sleepy Baby Productions for this summer.

I love mine too!!!!!  I use it around the house everyday, but I prefer my Ergo for outdoors!

  • I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Ergo Baby, but I have the NB insert. It is amazing how much I can do when I am carrying her in it, I got three hours of cleaning done yesterday and my back never hurt once!

  • I hvae the baby K'tan and love it. It feels like it really supports him. I debated a Moby but like the ease of the K'tan. I Have an Ergo for when he gets bigger. With DD I had a peanut shell (hated) and a Bjorn. Both will be headed for the consignment sale this summer.
  • the moby- super easy and super snug.  we've been going everywhere with it.

  • I've been using my mei-tai and loving it. I also have a seven sling and a homemade wrap. Owen hated the wrap the couple times I tried it, so I kind of gave up for now. He likes to be able to see my face, and the wrap holds him pretty close to my chest.

I wouldn't worry too much about the weight min. on the mei tai if baby feels secure when you tie it. Owen loves napping in it, and I love being able to move around the house and know he's still happy and sleeping.

Thanks for the advice.  I tried Carter in the mei tai and he seems to be just fine.  I love that you make the fit cater to you.   I'm going to miss him being this small later.  He has already seemed to grow so much in only 3 weeks!

I have an Ergo.  Someone told me that a blanket folded in the bottom works as well as the insert so that's what I've been using.

I might try this too.  Thanks for the tip!
