I don't know whether this is traumatizing or just weird.
This morning, M was hungry (shocking, since he ate at 1, 2, 3, 4:30, 5:30, 6:45, and 8am!!), and I was making myself breakfast (and frankly, my boobs needed a break!) so I gave him to mom and a 2oz pumped milk bottle that I heated. The bottle seemed hot, so mom put some milk in her wrist to test temperature, then she TASTED IT!!! Which was followed by "oh, it's ok" and started feeding M.
Why am I grossed out by her tasting my milk? It IS gross right? no? I mean, it's feeding M!!! I clearly have issues. but in another sense, it is making me lol!
Also, if it wasn't obvious, my kid is going to be a line backer or a sumo wrestler by the way he's eating!!!

I keep trying to get my SO to taste it, but he won't lol.
lol, I would be mortified.
My MW told me it is excellent in coffee.
DH tried it. He pulled a bottle out of the fridge (didn't shake it up or anything) and took a little swig. He said it tasted like water and something a little sour. Not like rotten milk sour though. I want to try eating different foods and have him taste it afterward to see if it has any effect on the flavor.
Admittedly, I also have major curiosity, but something stops me.... Societal bias, perhaps?

Wow props to him for being ballsy enough to take a swig. I tried my own milk the other day..
and it tasted like sweetend, watered down milk. I only tried a little dab though.
I don't think it's weird since it seems she was checking the temp of the milk, not actually 'tasting' it.
I tasted mine, so did DH, it was sweet. DH wished I produced more so he could use it in his coffee.
Side Note: He got to taste it, because when I was hand expressing during mastitis I could squirt half way across the room. I called him into the bedroom one day and shot it at his face. Then he wanted to see if my aim was could enough to hit a target: his mouth.
That's funny. Hubs tasted mine before. With DD#1, during sex - he is a boobie man. He apparently forgot that I was producing milk. He said it was a sweet milk. And with DD#2 to check the temp of the bottle, the same way the OPs mom did. The sex time did not gross me out, but for some unknown reason- probably like of sleep- the checking the bottle temp time caused my jaw to drop.
DH really wants to try it. He hasn't yet but he tried to get some out the other day when we were taking a shower.
Wait, was that TMI? Meh, oh well.

It is just milk. I am assuming you tasted milk right from the tap from her, I don't see the big deal :-)
