Umbilical cord fell off

This morning when I woke to feed DD after DH's night shift with her I changed her diaper and noticed that her umbilical cord fell off. DH said it came off last night. For some reason I got a little emotional (not full on tears but misty eyed) about it. My little girl is growing up! Lol i'm so cheesy.

    I'm not ashamed to admit that I actually sobbed when DD's fell off. I kept thinking that it was what connected us for so many months and we will never be that close again. Crying

    LOL, Abby's fell off when I was changing her diaper.  I said "ewwwww" and threw it in the garbage. 

    DH and my sister surprising wanted to know why I didn't keep it.  I thought that was a bit weird and I am very sentimental and save everything.  But ummm, this was a huge scab thing....

    ours fell off 2 days ago. I kept it for a few hours and took a picture of it before I tossed it. Now he's just a little crusty.  Bath day today!

    DS's has not fallen off yet and I am sad thinking about it falling off. I keep telling DH that he is growing up so fast and I don't like it. Smile

    Wow, I feel like a freak. My son is 5 days old and his cord was hanging by a thread at the pediatricia's office today- she said it should fall off tomorrow.
