Re: anyone heard of dr. Joann Samora-Mata?

  • I go to Dr. Laurie Swaim in that practice.  I love her but her cut-and-dry personality is probably not for everyone.  I did have to see Dr. Samora-Mata at the end of my last pregnancy and found her to be a bit more touchy feely than Dr. Swaim which isn't my style but might be yours.  Can't say enough good things about the practice!

Yes!  She delivered my 11 year old son.  She is my current doctor, and I just love her!  She also removed a polyp from my uterus so I could continue with IVF a few years ago.  She's amazing.  She gives me her honest opinion at all times and truly develops a real relationship with her patients.  For me, I feel like she has been a rock thoughout my infertility because she kept telling me she would deliver another baby for me even when she could see I was discouraged.  Her confidence kept me going, and I even took it as a sign.  Sure enough, she will be delivering little Walter in August or Sept.!

  • She is my current OB and will be delivering me.  I switched my MD at about 20weeks and I am so thankful that I did.  I absolutely LOVE HER!  She used to be a nurse midwife, which I loved immediately 1. because I want to try to labor as natural as possible 2. because you get the best of both worlds, Nurse and an MD 3. I'm a Nurse so we had a connection.

She really listens and I never felt like she was rushing me or ignoring me.  That's my 2cents!  Good luck!
