Diaper sewing mamas - Q about thread and wicking
Are there certain types of thread that wick more or less? I haven't yet made a diaper, but I did make some reusable menstral pads which I have been using for a couple years now. They wick in the areas where stitched. I used cotton thread so I think the cottom carries the moisture from one side to the other. Before I started making diapers I wanted to see if this is avoidable. Does anyone know if you use polyester thread or something else if it will prevent wicking? Thanks.

Yep, you want to use poly thread.
Also, make sure that you don't use cotton prints on the outside of a diaper intended to be waterproof. For example, you don't want to sew a cotton print to a hidden layer of PUL. Even if you use poly thread, it will wick moisture ever so slightly and make the cotton print get wet.
Obviously, you can use cotton prints (and cotton thread, for that matter) all you want on fitteds
