Stupid questions rant

I'm a cashier at the ever lovely Cracker Barrel. Today I was on single coverage so I was not allowed to leave the front desk but really needed to pee. THe last potty break I had was when my shift began 5 hours prior. Additionally, LO was bouncing on my bladder which only made the situation worse. The next cashier was due to come in for work in about 20 minutes so I asked a manager if they would come run a till for 5 seconds so I could have some relief. General manager (really nice guy- salt of the earth) says sure. Moments later, my grouch assistant manager storms to the front and sets up her register. She snaps at me "Seriously girl, you couldn't wait another 15 minutes?!?"  To which I replied, "You've never been pregnant right?" She stared blankly back and I headed for the powder room. How many times will I have to defend a simple request like a restroom break? It's crazy how people treat one another. Especially her. Anyway, just needed to vent. I feel better.

  • She's an idiot.

Can I just say that I have an unhealthy obsession with Cracker Barrel. We don't have them up north, so whenever we head down south, we have to stop and eat. Very little excites me as much as seeing that gold and brown billboard on I-95

  • I'm not 100% certain but I don't think they are allowed to have you work more than 4hrs w/o at least a 15 min break...

The AM is a gem. Good luck w/her!

  • I do usually get breaks when I need them but the official policy is 8 hours and a 30 min break. I was without a second cashier in this instance so it was just more difficult to get that break I really needed.

    Hmmm, which state?

    I really don't think that's true.  I think it's 4 hours, and you're allowed a break, at least a 10 minute break.
