graduation ceremony

DH was chosen, by the class of '11, to deliver the commencement address at their graduation ceremony, this Saturday morning. I'd really like to be there to hear him speak. I'm torn when it comes to taking the boys or not. In theory, it would be nice for them to be there to support their dad; however, in practice, I'm 99.9% sure it would be nightmarish for everyone involved.

Thoughts? I should probably line up a sitter (and quickly), huh?

Get a sitter. They're so little and and even though it would be cool for J. Bob to see Dad up there, he's not really gonna get it. And there's always the chance that he will decide he desperately *needs* to be up there with Dad and squawk the whole time

Get a great cup of coffee on the way, sit and enjoy yourself and watching your husband be awesome.

Record his speech if you want to show it to them sometime.

Dilemma solved.

I totally agree with Hannah.

My nephew got his Eagle Scout award last spring, and I took both of my boys (it was a family event). DH was asked by my nephew to say a few words and I was thrilled for him.

Justin picked the moment that Daddy was on stage to LITERALLY exit stage left, grabbing balloons along the way. So here I was with my 7 month old infant, chasing my rotten 2.5 year old, during a solemn ceremony for my nephew and missed my husband's speech.

Leave your kids in someone else's hands. Wink

Congrats, Mr. TTT! Hope your wife brings you a bouquet of pickles (that is his thing, right?). You might as well have a nice breakfast out too with DH while you are at it.

Totally agree with the sitter (and the coffee). Don't forget tissues. What a wonderful honor for your husband. It will be so special for you to be there for him and focus on him 100%.
