tell me the difference in the shots for IUI and IVF. I am using menopur and bravelle for the IUI's and its been 6 vials total a night. So when i do IVF I will be at close to the same. My question is, what is the difference in shots for IVF vs IUI and what is the difference inf Follistim and other stuff that may be needed?

Re: IUI and IVF- tell me the difference
With IVF, it is common to take BCPs for a few weeks before starting stims. Not a rule, but common.
In addition to the stims (whether it be Menopur and Bravelle or Follistim), you will take another med to stop you from ovulating on your own (typically Lupron or Ganirelix).
Follistim comes prepared and with a pen for dispensing, as opposed to Menopur and Bravelle, which you have to prepare with the saline.
You will also get some sort of trigger shot - it could HCG or Ovidrel (I think there may be another brand too). HCG had to be prepared like Menopur. Ovidrel came prepared in a syringe.
Then there will be a few pills - I took Methylpred (I can't remember why now, but I think it is an noninflammatory - I am sure someone else knows), Doxycycline (antibiotic, I think) around ER.
I was given a Valium for ET.
And you will also take some Estrogen - whether pill or patch - and some Progesteron - whether IM or suppository or oral - most start after ER but before ET.
That is all I can remember. I hope this helps and good luck!!
Edited - this is for your more basic IVF cycles. Cycles can be tweaked and customized, like doing EPP or clomid as part of a cycle.
