I was just told I have an elevated FSH...

Anyone have experience with this. What I'm reading on-line about it is not encouraging at all. My FSH level on day 3 was 10.9. Anyone??

    I too was told this week that my FSH is higher, the nurse would not give me a number.  I am meeting with my doctor on Tuesday.  I am hoping that this will just mean that with my IVF in July it will mean more meds, but I am only guessing.  I am trying to stay calm until Tuesday.

    I wrote this exact post back in January. First, BREATHE.  Second, 10.9 is barely elevated. How old are you ? Do you know what your AMH is? What about antral follicle count? All of these are measurements of ovarian reserve so try not to focus on just one piece of the puzzle.

    ETA: also, what was your estrogen/estradiol on day 3?

    TTC #1 since 8/1/10; Me:41 and BRCA1+, DH:46
    DOR (FSH 24.3)/ terrible egg quality ; homozygous MTHFR c677t
    5 IUI's: 2/11 to 6/11 and 1/12= BFN
    OE IVF#1-4 8/11-6/12= all BFN
    DE IVF#1 11/12 bad embryos= BFN
    DE IVF #2 2/13 BFP/Beta hell: m/c 5w6d
    CFNBC 7 months, not doing well; decided on guarantee program at RBA w/frozen DE
    DE IVF #3 1/14  ET 4BB; BFP;M/C 5w1d, incomplete m/c; MVA extraction in ER 7w1d

    DE FET#1 ET 3/1714; BFP, beta 1 3/27= 197, beta 2 3/31= 1586, beta 3 4/7= 13879!!
    First u/s= Twins with HBs at 6w2d! We are Team Pink x 2!!

    Estradiol was 91 on day 3. Not sure of the other levels. I'm 35.

    Your estradiol is a bit high. They want it under 75. What that means is that the estrogen is actually supressing your FSH a bit, meaning your FSH is really a little higher than 10.9.  But again, this is just a piece of the puzzle. I would ask what your AMH level was. Antral follicle count is down on the u/s on cd3.   The higher number of follicles you have, the more likely you will have a better response to stims.  Numbers are just numbers and it really comes down to how you response to drug stimulation. You may need more drugs to get a decent response than someone who has a lower FSH. It's far from over!  We've even had a few pregnancies over on this board in the past few months from high FSH ladies on natural cycles. Do you know if you are going to pursue treatment? Have you talked to the RE about the FSh level yet?

    Mine is 11.9 and my estrodial is fine. I have been pregnant 2 times au natural but misscarried. I did 2 iui's and nothing. I am trying on my own then IVF in aug or september. good luck. Take DHEA 50 mg a day. should bring it down and produce better eggs.

    I am turning 35 next month. In Jan I had an FSH of 15.6 and an AMH of 0.4, I got pregnant the next cycle on my own.

    Age is most certainly on your side. And, you have been pregnant before. I think your chances are pretty good. Good luck!
