I appreciate everyone chiming in on my decision whether to get the operation or not. I decided not to. I have a long ways to go but at the end of my pregnancy with Olivia, I needed to lose a total of 160 pounds. And as of today, I have 99 to go. Not bad for 3 1/2 months!
It's a day-by-day battle and always will be but things are looking up!
Re: AW: Update - Gastric Bypass
I'm am glad you made the decision to do it on your own. I had the RNY in 2008. Although I am happy with the weight loss I am having some health problems now relating to vitamin deficiencies. Not go when you run after a 14 month old and someone else's 8 month old. My husband considered the lapband but after being turned down intially because was just shy of 40 bmi he decided to let me put him on a diet and exercise regime. He lost 40 lbs in 2 months. I know form experience how hard it is and keep up the good work!
Oh, sorry I don't post here very much. I'm Tammy. Hi, nice to meet everyone.
Absolutely! I did the same thing - Was on a diet three days post-partum, though I told myself I'd let myself have a few weeks of recovery before starting the diet, I was so tired of being so fat, I started right away. I've had some lulls but back on and going pretty strong the past few weeks. Let me know when you're ready - I'll still be 'on my journey' at that point!
I think your doing great. I needed to lose 60 pounds, I went on Weight watchers and lost 35 pounds and then started getting really down because my DH would make little comments about how I was buying different snacks for the family and they didn't have all their chips and cookies and beer and would tell me that I was the one on a diet not them and I didn't ignore his comments and I let it get the best of me. I ended up gaining the 30 pounds back that I lost and I'm back to needing to lose 60 pounds. I am horrified by the way I look and how I allowed myself to get like this. What are you doing to help lose the weight? I can't afford the monthly fee anymore of WW but I have all the info and thought I could do it still at home but I just have not buckled down enough to do it.
I know what you mean - It's SO hard to keep on top of it. It really is a daily struggle for me.
I keep it simple and just count calories. You tend to eat very healthy this way because if you want to make your calories stretch, you have to! I give myself around 1700 per day. If I find myself very hungry, I have a cup of black coffee which helps to curb my appetite - The caffeine boost is nice, too!
I will email you tonight with more tips and things I eat, etc!
