Not expecting that!

When DH was born his father left his mom so he never got the chance to learn about his dad's family. Surprisingly last night he got a FB message from his dads sister, his aunt. I guess his family has been looking for him for years and finally found him! I still don't know what to say to him or them, but I needed to tell someone. I didn't want to tell people we know until we possibly get to meet them. I am so happy that he can learn more about his history now, but worried all at the same time. :)

Re: Not expecting that!

  • Wow that amazing!  I always get choked up when I watch the Locator and wish I were able to find my biological father.  I think it would be awesome to find out if I have brothers or sisters out there.   Hope everything works out well!

  • A very similar thing happened with my DH and his bio-dad.  Funnily enough, he has a better relationship with his aunts and uncles than with his bio-dad (who is still a jerk after all these years).

    Good luck!

  • That's awesome. My half-sister found me. She lives just a few hours from me, so we have met up a couple of times for lunch. We don't have a whole lot in common, since we are like 6 years apart, but she's a great kid.

We weren't so lucky getting in touch with our biological father's family, but you win some, you lose some. I hope everything goes well though :)

I am guessing this will happen. His aunt contacted him, but not his dad. I am not sure if he even knows his sister contacted DH.
