Northshore swim class

I had wanted to sign up at the YMCA for a swim class for my son and I to do - however the days the YMCA is doing them for this session is during the week which I can't go to as I work full time

Does anyone know of another place I can go for a weekend or evening swim class on the northshore

thanks!

  • Paul Lydon Aquatic Center behind the Liberty Tree Mall is fantastic. I haven't been there in forever but it is a great place.

that's where i took my son for his lessons. it was cheaper than the Y, 10 lessons for $90 i think.  the only slight gripe i had was his teacher (the owner) was a cranky old man who calls all the kids "fakers" when they cry.  yes, most likely it's true , but c'mon...who says that right off the bat?? i've heard his daughter and son are a lot nicer, not sure if you can request one of their classes.

I love that grumpy old man!  He trained me to be a lifeguard many years ago. I don't know what sort of crank he may be now, but he was an amazing coach/trainer and does amazing community work.  He worked for a very long time with a teenager with a traumatic past who had an extreme fear of water, and I wouldn't doubt it if he you told me he has been teaching 30 years or more.
