Parenting after a Loss

lkstor...I need you... :-(

Ok, so N has been sick for about a week and a half. On Sun the 15th he started w/ vomiting and diarrhea but never had a fever. That lasted until about Friday. Saturday night he had a fever about 101. The next day he woke up and it was gone...no fever all day Sunday all day Monday. Tuesday I drop him off at DC and he's a little warm, but acting normal. By the time I picked him up that evening he was lethargic and miserable. His temp was 102.2. He went to the dr today and he said there are pus pockets in his throat, but he tested negative for strep. He wasn't given antibiotics. His fever is still around 101.5, and barely comes down with Tylenol/Motrin. Should I call back in the morning and ask for antibiotic? I always though pus=infection=antibiotics? But then again I'm not the professional. Sorry this is so long :( Thanks doll.

Re: lkstor...I need you... :-(

  • Poor guy! Pus does not necessarily mean a bacterial infection. Viruses (like mono, for example) can cause the nastiest throats I've ever seen. If the strep was negative, it's probably just a matter of time. Sorry! Hugs :)
