Overdue = induction?

Hi, ladies-

Need your help since I am anxious and want to know what to expect at my doctor's appointment tomorrow.  I was due yesterday. If I express my willingness to be induced, how likely is it that they will induce me tomorrow Thursday or the following day?  I really don't want to wait until after the Memorial Day weekend when I am 41 weeks.

    It's really up to your doctor and their availability. My doc talked induction at my 39wk appt. Some won't consider it until 41wks. Some can get you in that day, some have to schedule you a week or so out because they are so busy with other babies.

    I wasn't comfortable being induced before ~42 weeks, and my practice doesn't induce before then without a medical need. You might want to discuss it with your doctor, but keep in mind that it's totally normal to wait an a while longer! Most babies will come on their own by 42 weeks, and you're technically "due" any time between 38 and 42 weeks.

    My appt was Monday and I was due yesterday too. I was scheduled for my induction next Tuesday night. I wanted to be induced Friday but he wanted me to wait until at least 41 weeks, since most FTM go over anyways. Its up to the doctor.
