Mason Bradley was born on Monday, May 23rd at 5:03pm. I went in at 8 am for a scheduled induction. I was only 2-3 cm dialated to begin with about 50-60% effaced. They started the pitocin around 10:30 am and after about an hour, my water broke on its own and the contractions really got started to pick up. They were getting really painful so around 2 pm I received an epidural which was amazingly helpful. It allowed me to contract without holding back and by 4 pm I was 9-9.5 cm dialated. I could hardly feel any pain or pressure with the contractions so at 4:15 pm they had me start pushing and I was able to deliver him in only 45 mins. After he was born they laid him right on my chest and I was able to try and BF right away. My husband and I both cried the minute we seen him.. It was truely amazing to know the that he had been inside me all along.
He was born 7 lbs 15 oz and absolutely perfect
His APGAR score was an 8 then a 9 (only shy of a ten because his hands were still a little blue). He is slowly picking up a good latch for BF'ing. He was born with a little bit of Petechiae on his face but the pediatrician said it is from the pressure of the quick delivery and will fade in just a few days.
Thank you to everyone for all the great support over the past 9 months and I look forward to seeing everyone on the 0-3 months board!!
