Barnes and Nobel - Fail

So one of my aunts gave us "The Going to Bed Book" shortly after Charlotte was born. Great gift, but we already had that one. So I finally got around to going to the bookstore today (We have a kindle so I haven't had the need) to exchange it for another one of the Boynton books. I get up to the counter and the manager tells me she can't do anything for me because their return policy is 14 days. I mean really. The book is in mint condition, I have a reciept and you KNOW they are just going to put it back on the shelf. I could understand if it was a magazine, or best seller, or something with a limited shelf live, but come on this is a classic kids book. Finally she caved and gave me 50% of the price back, grrrr.

Dumb dumb dumb.  I would have refused the return and told them that I would be giving my business to Borders, Amazon, and Target.  This is a book that's been on the shelf for years and it's not like you wanted money back... just another Boynton book.  Dumb.
  • That blows. But I'm kind of surprised. I've returned plenty of things to B&N weeks after buying or receiving them, even with no receipt, with no problems if I just want to exchange something. I'm sorry : (

Sometimes, you do better without a receipt than with one, which makes no sense.

  • ugh, that's so obnoxious!
