chiropractic

Does anyone still see their chiropractor at this point? I fell off a horse a while back and am still recovering from a severe neck injury. I am supposed to go tomorrow, but I feel anxious about the experience. Any advice?

Re: chiropractic

  • I regularly see a chiropractor for back issues I've had for over 12 years.  The last time I was pregnant he told me all about the benefits of keeping your hips in alignment for the birth and also how women who see a chiropractor have easier labor according to studies.  Talk to you chiro about it and I'm sure they will be able to ease all your concerns and figure out what's right for you!

  • I'm so pro CHIRO :)  I've had back issues for years but didn't start going till this past summer after a car accident when i couldn't lay down without getting headaches (then i'd sit up and they would be gone)

My rotating team of 3 have done so much for me. I hit a glass ceiling w/ my pain and they had me do an elimination diet which has corrected every health problem I've ever complained about - turned out I have ALOT of food sensitives! They do so much more than help w/ back pain!! My husband also goes it def a lifestyle/wellness thing for us.

I'm now maintenance now but I always feel better after I go. I got to share our news at my last adjustment and they did some extra things for my pelvis :) I can't imagine not going though out my pregnancy for own regular wellness, to help manage the pregnancy symptoms and to help makes sure i have the best alignment possible for the baby's delivery. And I defiantly plan on going w/ the baby to be adjusted as soon as possible right after.

Not saying they heal all but instead of over the counter medicines chiropractics have been come my first line defense and my life is dramatically better in ways that I couldn't even quantify because of it.

  • I have been seeing one since March due to a car accident. They have been really helpful and I hope to continue now that I am pg. I had a lot of lower backpain last time.

  • I am! I see one every 2 weeks for chronic tension headaches, so he works on my neck. My doctor said it's perfectly fine.

  • Another big fan of chiropractic care here! DH works in a warehouse and I sit at a computer most of the day so we went a couple years ago to try it out. Both of our jobs aren't great for your back. Now there is no way either of us would stop. We both go once a month for an adjustment. It not only stopped my back pain but also my headaches, TMJ, and sinus issues. I swear by it and we are both in better health because of it. I will also have him adjust me while pg. When I have my child I will have him see them when he thinks it is time. It is great. The trick is to find someone you are comfortable with and trust. I did and now my whole family goes to him (he saved my mom from two neck surgeries).
  • Thank you for all of the great advice. My office has 3 doctors but I am only comfortable with 1. I am going to make sure that they know that tomorrow afternoon when I am there. So you get u/s and electrostimulation with your doctors? They do it every time I am there. Should I ask them to stop?

  • I'm still seeing mine, but he also does acupuncture (which helped me get pregnant!), so I'm going more for the acu, but he is adjusting my back as well.

I definitely agree! I go regularly for scoliosis and went during my entire first pregnancy.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! My back is horrible as it is and would have been 100x worse if I hadn't gone.
