and I am so excited. My parents live in Vermont and I don't get to see them often. We talk a few times a week, but it just isn't the same. She was going to make the trip down on Friday for my saturday due date, but decided to come down early! Now, I will have someone to hang out with while we do this waiting thing.
I guess we are never to old to need our mommies! I hope I have half as good of a relationship with my daughter as I have with my mom. *tears* damn hormones! LOL
Re: my mommy is coming today
I was really glad that my mom was around when DD arrived. It's nice to have someone to bounce questions off especially when I wasn't sure what I was doing. Still trying to gain the confidence level. I'm glad that your mom will be available to help you out. How long will she be up for, or should I say down for LOL?
Delivered 3 weeks and 2 days early via emergency c/s due to pre-e
That's one thing my baby will miss, a good grandma. My kids always talk about my mom. She was a much better grandma then a mom.
Have fun with your mommy! I'm sure you, your dd and mom will all three have a great relationship
Yes, it is! I love my Mommy .. even though she's opinionated (at times), I know she has my best interest at heart & always makes whatever the issue better.
JEALOUS of you!!! my mom is a total pain most of the time...
enjoy your time with your mom and hopefully you won't be waiting to welcome baby much longer!!! at least now you'll have a walking buddy!
I only see my mother twice a year due to geography so I can relate.
It was the best thing having her here for 3 weeks after the birth. Even with the early induction, she managed to change her plane ticket and arrive that day and get the nursery ready by the time we came home from the hospital.
I ended up not needing any taking care of myself (got super lucky with the physical recovery) but there were so many other helpful things she did. Advice and lessons, of course. Healthy home-cooked dinners. All the dishes and laundry. And she has chronic insomnia so she'd even happily take on the middle of the night feedings so we could both sleep. It was so awesome.
We both wondered how long she could actually visit before we got on each other's nerves but that never happened. And DH loved having her here as well.
Plus her trip overlapped with my birthday, her own birthday, and Mother's Day, so it was all kinds of festive.
That's really sweet.. you're very lucky to have her. and.. no.. we're never too old to need/miss our mommies... I miss my mom so much and wish she were still around to know my funny little Bernadette...
and Kim.. you are going to LOVE being a mommy of a baby girl...SO MUCH FUN... the clothes/ dress up... etc.. All the best to you.. and enjoy the time with your mom before you become a mom yourself.
So wonderful!
My mom is a bit lacking (understatement! we can't all have wonderful mommies but we can be wonderful mommies!) but I am really looking forward to my mother in law's visit! She is coming across from England for 3 weeks at the beginning of October. And my sister in law is coming for 3 weeks in August. Hopefully that will fill all my mommying needs
