If you saw the "Goldsby Tornado" coverage

on CNN or MSNBC...that is my hometown. I have a TON of family there, including my parents. Luckily, all are ok. And we had to get into the tornado room ourselves here in Dallas.

It was a crazy night.

I'm glad you and your family are okay.

What is your tornado room? Is it the inner most room in your house? When K was living Kansas and I went for a week to visit her there was a major storm with tornado warnings. We were in a hotel and the instructions were to go into the inner hallways should the alarm go off. I thought it was a bit weird that they didn't tell everyone to go to the inner hallways on the first floor but maybe being a hotel that would have been too many people.

Our tornado room is a room under the stairs, and is the most inner place in the house as well. The door opens up to the side of the stairs, the turns under the stairs, so it's basically covered on four sides and covered by the stairs. The downstairs bathroom is on the other side of one of the walls.

i didn't realize anyone else here was from dallas. we were hunkered down in the bathroom with the cats. they were not pleased.

did you see this from the voice? oak lawn was hit really hard, despite not having a real tornado hit us.

I know!! We live like 4 mins from Oaklawn! We had 3 dogs and 2 cats all hunkered down as well.

i didn't see any. we're in an apt complex, with some good sized trees that have been damaged before. there's probably some roof damage from the hail i heard, but i didn't see anything significant. we did hear all the sirens going to that accident on maple, where the people were pinned by the fallen tree.
