We celebrate "anniversaries" at work every year. I work for a large company and they do something special at 5, 10, 20, etc. One of the executives that I knew "before he was important" and I were talking about it and he mentioned several months ago that his 20 year was on May 25. My husband I have known him forever and his team works virtually so I said I would take him to lunch that day. Something came up today and I had to move the lunch but I sent an anniversary email and said congrats. Here is the dialog that followed:
Him - Thanks (me). I just can't believe she has put up with me for 20 years
Me - Isn't it your (company) anniversary?
Him - Nope
Me - OMG. Why was I celebrating your marriage anniversary? I feel like a lunatic.
Him - I don't know as I was wondering the same thing. No big deal but you still owe me lunch though as I was looking forward to it.
Silence.

That is funny!!
And if it makes you feel any better, let me tell you what I did this weekend...
My Dh was going out with his friends to play basketball and then going for drinks. I wanted to text him and let him know that if he wanted to stay at his friend's place so that he didnt have to worry about driving that was fine with me. (He never goes out and I wanted him to have fun). I send the text, "I meant to tell you earlier, feel free to stay at Adam's tonight if you want." A little while later I get a text back that says, "Huh?" At this point I am a little annoyed, how was I not clear in my first text and why was he being rude (ok, maybe that isnt rude, but my DH usually would never do that). So I send a second text, "Stay at Adam's if you want." The response, "Did you mean to send this to (DH)? This is (your boss!)"
As if that wouldnt be embarrassing enough on a normal Saturday night...but my boss is currently on his honeymoon!! I texted my boss on his honeymoon to tell him he could stay at Adam's place if he wanted to. I can only imagine what his new wife must have been thinking! Lol.
LOL! That is really funny!
