Which are you using? I need something for the baby's changing area but I don't know what to get. I don't want to spend a lot, but I def don't want our bedroom to smell either.
I'm just using a trashcan with a lid. I'm also going to get some scented diaper/doggie bags (whichever is cheaper - diaper bags or doggie poo bags, need to check it out) and I'll put the really smelly diapers in their own bag and tie it shut.
I also live in a condo, with a trash chute right down the hallway, so I plan to empty the garbage can every day. This may make my solution different than yours. I bought a very small garbage can to force me to do this!

We got a diaper pail for free that takes regular trash bags so we will use that. But, from my experience, a regular trash can with a lid works great too. If you leave a weeks worth of diapers in it, it is going to smell like a weeks worth of diapers no matter what you put them in!

This time around we got the diaper champ as well as the arm&hammer pail. We had the genie elite last time and it currently smells like death warmed over. We have to keep it in our guest bathroom and keep the door closed all the time. Thankfully we are on our last refill of it so I can finally throw it away soon. Whatever you choose, might I suggest not getting the vanilla scented glad bags as I would rather smell poop than those bags. OMG. Maybe its the pg nose, but they smell like robitussin...shivers.

We are doing cloth too but using disposable wipes (until I lure my husband to the other side, bwahaha). We are just going to use a SMALL trashcan WITH A LID (we have a dog). We have been saving our grocery bags and plan to use those to line the trashcan with. Those bags are small so we will take the trash out often.
The only annoying part is that we live in a town with no trash pickup so we HAVE to take the trash to the dump. Each bag to throw away is $1.25 so we try to wait until we have a huge bag full. I don't know how we will do it once baby arrives....

Small metal trashcan with lid. We will be using grocery bags to line them. I plan on putting the wet diapers in that and just taking out the poopy ones immediately (which I have scented bags for).
If my house was more than one story.. I may have gotten a diaper pail. This way just works better for us.

we are using a trashcan in the room, however we are using cloth, i
f we were using disposable we probably would just use the general trash can as we tend to fill it fast anyway
This exactly. We had a Diaper Genie Elite for DS and it worked perfectly. We're cloth diapering this time so we won't be reusing it.
