TTC: If it's a boy, I realllllly love Callum but theres two different pronunciations for this name
Kay-lum
Cal ("Pal") -lum <--more common
my name is Anna which I pronounce Ann-uh but I get Ah-na 30% of the time and it doesn't bother me at all (you say potato I say pataado)
I prefer the pronunciation Kay-lum, but I do not want to alter the spelling for ignorant people. I want to know your thoughts about the name in general, and also with the pronunciation I like.
Re: WDYT of Callum?
It is still spelled the same, and to me the "Kay" doesn't make it girly since nobody finds the name Caleb to be girly....
I love the name Calum (spelled this way)
I pronounce it Cal-um, but you could always just correct people. I don't think it's ignorant to assume the pronunciation is one way or another.
I like the spelling Caelum... it's not phonetic for ignorant people, but it gives better insight into pronunciation. It's NMS, but not bad.
When I see "Callum" though, the spelling automatically throws me off and I start thinking "Gollum" from LOTR. Yes, I'm a geek, but thought I'd toss that into your consideration in case you haven't thought of it.
He's growing up, but he'll always be my baby!
