So i have been missing my iced coffees lately, do you think having one would hurt? does anyone know how much caffiene is in them and how much we can have? TIA. SOrry i am such a worry wort!
you mean McDonalds Vanilla Iced coffee?? Cuz I indulge all the time. I still allow myself 1 caffienated drink per day. and vanilla iced coffee is my favorite.
They don't have much if you get one like a Panera frozen mocha, etc. I emailed when I was pg with DD and I think it was 75 mg of caffeine, well within the 200 limit I remember.
I drink coffee every morning, probably about 16-20 oz, which is probably a medium at a Dunkin Donuts or similar...I say have your iced coffee and enjoy it!

all the major chains should have the nutritional info available online. i know starbucks has it for sure, and i would assume panera, mcdonald's, etc, do to. but generally, a cup every once in a while is fine. just realize that you'll be bouncing off the walls since you're not used to it anymore. i had an iced tea recently and was BUZZING.
I have one coffee every day. A single shot of espresso has about 70-80mg of caffine. The recommendation in pregnancy is under 300mg per day. I never even had that much when I wasn't pregnant. Have your iced coffee, if you are worried just get decaf or they can do half a shot of caff and half decaf.

I give myself a few caffeine drinks a week. A soda or a coffee once a day is ok. It is something like 200 mg or less.
I had a small DD Iced French Vanilla Coffee this morning. Everything in moderation my dear! I don't plan to over indulge in other caffeine today so that one drink isn't a big deal!

i get decaf iced coffee's all the time, but i never have get regular because it keeps me up at night even when i'm not pg. i'm sure if you want one with the caffeine it would be ok to as long as it's in moderation
Personally, I'm wary of decaf unless it's swiss water process. Otherwise, they use a bunch of chemicals to remove the caffeine (Starbucks is not swiss water processed). I would rather have small amounts of caffeine than chemicals.
My doc says if you want caffeine and need it to get through the day then go for it. They recommend you stay under 300 mg. per day. I'm not sure what other side effects caffeine can have on your fetus but i know coffee is a diuretic so make sure to drink more water and my doc says they are saying that it increases the odds of pre-term labor but he also said the results for that study are inconclusive. I just emailed starbucks because I have been buying the VIA ready brew iced coffee, it's so good but I was seriously bouncing off the walls so I figured there must be a generous amt. of caffeine in there. In a 16oz. it's 260-280 mg. and online it says their iced coffee 16 oz is like 160mg. so either way you're fine. I thought the 280mg was kind of pushing it so i only have a 1/2 cup now. so after all that i say...ENJOY!
I allow myself one caffinated beverage per day, it is a personal decision but that is what I did last time and it worked well so I am sticking with it.
I agree with everyone else...my dr says about 1 caffenated drink a day (u to 300mg caffine) is totally fine. Most days I avoid caffine altogether so that when I crave something I don't feel guilty. Like yesterday I had my first Iced Caramel Latte from Dunkin Donuts in about 10 weeks....it was amazing and I refused to feel guilty about it
I have at least one iced coffee every week. A big one. From dunkin donuts. (Not Decaf!) Basically my doctor has said that my caffeine intake now is SO much lower than before that I'm good so ::thumbs up::

The guideline my midwife gave me was <200 mg caffeine a day. Most places should have a brochure listing the amount of caffeine/calories per drink. (Starbucks and McDonalds both do.)

I go to Dunkin and get Decaf Iced Coffee's. I'm not sure if your trying to avoid caffiene all together but my Midwife said that a lil caffiene is ok just as long as you don't go overboard with it. GL
Re: Iced Coffee
go get one
I have had a few decaf iced coffees lately...mmm... you can't taste the caffeine so it still tastes great
You can also try 1/2 decaf if you want a little bit in there....

This. According to my doctor, a coffee a day is fine. Go for it.

Yes it's terribly dangerous.
Seriously - enjoy your coffee already.

I go to Starbucks a lot and I get an iced decaf vanilla late'. To me it tastes just the same as one with caffiene.
One is fine. I wouldn't even think twice.
