I need to teach DD some new songs...so far we know (she likes to try to sing along and do the hand movements) Itsy Bitsy Spider, The Wheels on the Bus, and Patty Cake...I need some more ideas!! You would think some of these songs would come back to me...
Re: What songs do you & LO sing?
Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, Skiddamarink, BINGO, Twinkle Twinkle, Old MacDonald Had a Farm, If All the Raindrops, Humpty Dumpty, Wheels on the Bus, I've Been Working on the Railroad, John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt, and many, many more....
I'm a music teacher, so I know an infinite number of children's songs. It's really quite insane! If you're finding that you're forgetting many children's songs, this is a great website since it has lyrics and midi files of the song melody. Also, you can get compilation CDs of lots of kid's songs for $5-10 at Wal Mart. We have several of them!
Oh, thank you thank you!! Now I don't have to make up the words or just hum the ones I don't know anymore, haha.

We got this as a gift for her birthday and adore the songs preloaded on it (we have a few kid's CDs that drive me BSC - this one is just so pleasant) and she's so proud of herself for working the buttons.
Happy & you know it, head shoulders knees & toes.
Plus a few that we learned at story time at the library that I'm not sure what the names of them are. One's about speckled frogs. Another is hitting the floor, smacking knees, clapping hands, and waving arms. There's a driving in the car song. Oh, and the baby hokey pokey. There are more, but those are the ones we sing the most. He really loves the speckled frog song, alhtough there aren't a lot of motions to go with it.
LOL! Doesn't make you a bad mom! I have the classic rock digital music channel on most of the day and we sing those songs, plus a bunch of newer stuff too!
