Our babysitter is graduating with her Masters and moving into the new home she and her BF bought in Michigan. We are heartbroken. She's fantastic, she's crazy about our kids, and having her around to watch them has been a blessing to us. I have been trying to figure out what to get her and we just received an invite to her graduation. So should we do two separate gifts (graduation and a separate housewarming/thanks for everything gift)? Or should we do one gift?
And if so, WHAT should we get her? Lowes/Home Depot gift card seems so impersonal but so useful with a new home. I'm not sure of her decorating taste so I don't know what to get for the house. I like pens for graduation gifts but that's not a sufficient gift to cover everything. Someone suggested gift cards to places in the place to which she is moving but I don't know the area and don't have time to figure that one out.
Help us out. What are your suggestions? We're looking to spend about $200. TIA!
Re: Gift Help Needed
I think you should do 2 seperate gifts... a gift card to Lowe's would be great for graduation.
Then something more personal as a thank you... When I was a nanny in college and left the family to move to Chicago, they bought me a Tiffany chain bracelet (obviously you don't have to do Tiffany) and put the kids 2 birth stones as charms. I LOVED it and still wear it to this day. Something like that maybe??? A Pandora bracelet.. something she can keep forever that reminds her of your family
I got it. Get her some Wolverine gear. Nothing says welcome to Michigan like some sweet University of Michigan attire. Can I get a 'Go Blue'?!?
I freaking LOVE this idea. Stellar, Kat.
