Since my workouts are just mostly me running with the jogging stroller, it varies. I don't like to do the same route at the same time everyday (safety-thing). I usually go either (a) right after breakfast or (b) right after naptime. Both of those times work well for us.
I go to crossfit gym 3x a week at 5:30. Since it's right after work and it's on my way home I have less and less excuse to not go. DH picks up Jack and feeds him dinner and by the time I get home dinner is ready for me. I'm unbelievably spoiled.
I do run at night also and that's usually around 9pm.
ETA: I will admit I had a breakdown because I couldn't workout and I hated it. I just felt horrible about myself and everything else. That's when DH told me to start going after work. I felt really guilty at first but I take Jack all Saturday so DH has most of the day to himself.

I do 3 short workouts on weekday mornings (6 am), and 2 long workouts on the weekends. The short ones are 20-25 mins max, and the long ones are closer to 45-50 mins. I just do them at my house with minimal equipment - a few free weights, an exercise tube, and a stability ball. I have been working with a trainer since Ruby was about 7 weeks old, and she has worked with me to give me workouts that can be broken into short pieces, so I can either do short workouts on the weekday mornings or longer workouts on weekends when I have more time.
When I stop pumping at work, I plan to move my workout time to lunch so I can spend more time in the morning with DH and Ruby.

Once DH's canoe race is over and he's not working out every.single.night, my plan is to go after work a couple times per week and have DH pick A up from daycare those nights. We'll see if it actually happens. DH has been driving me nuts lately about going to the gym with him. a) He works out about 30 minutes longer than I care to, b) I refuse to put my kid in daycare after he gets done with daycare, and c) A is starving by the time he gets home and wants a snack or dinner ASAP.
I don't know if this is feasible, but have you thought about going during your lunch break (maybe taking 30 minutes longer and working 30 minutes later)? I know that means DS is in daycare for 30 minutes more, but it wouldn't be like moving from one daycare to the next. You deserve to have workout time too. :-)

The only problem is that I already work a 9-hr day (and we get every other Friday off). I rarely take a lunch break so I that I can get to work at 7:30 and leave at 4:30. If I tried to fit a workout in the middle of the day he would end up being in daycare from 7:15 until nearly 5:30 by the time I drove where I needed to drive, changed, worked out, changed, drove back. My other option would be to get up even earlier than I do and have DH take A to daycare (doesn't open until 7). We're still having occasional sleep issues so even my 6:00 wake-up time is tough right now.
Ugh. What about having DH switch with you on pick up times then? That way a couple of times of week you could work out and then get two more workouts in on Saturday and Sunday. Or, just doing like I do and run (I don't lift weights anymore b/c I don't have a lot of time). You would only need 30 minutes (you could run around your office or around his daycare), which would only add 30 minutes to his pick up time (you could get him sweaty)?
Hopefully I'm not annoying you. I just can tell you really want to workout, and I hate that you're not able to right now.
My schedule is insane so it varies every week. I try to go in the mornings after dh and the big kids leave for school. Usually around 8. If I cantdo that then I go once dh gets home. I usually have dinner ready to go and I'm back as the kids are getting ready for bed. Summer will be so much easier bc I won't be a slave to carpool. Ty will be able to join in June and go work out with me and the little kids will go to gym childcare. Teagan likes it more when DD is there too so I feel less guilty. When ty has football camp this summer we will go around 7 am probably.
Kate and I go to yoga on Wednesdays unless I'm babysitting, but other than that DH and I take turns after Kate's in bed.
Don't you have a pool? We only have a inflatable above ground pool, but we try to take Kate swimming several days a week after work. She can stand up in the pool and I only take her in if DH is with me so we take turns treading water etc. I was trying to run/ ride a bike around our neighborhood after Kate went to bed, but I had to stop when I started having my period issues. I could restart, but it's too d@mn hot and a gym membership is so not in our budget right now. I thought about trying to find a used jogging stroller, but the last time Kate got overheated she threw up so I'm hesitant to try that.
My new plan is to try to go swimming after she's asleep on days that we don't take her swimming. I can't do laps, but I can swim in a circle.

I figure since I walk about 4 miles per day at school, I'm okay for now. I know it's not really working out, but I move a lot imo...and it's better than just sitting on my arse all day and still not really working out.

What time do you go to bed?? I have tried to do the 5:30 am class but I HATE getting up early. How do you do it? Right now I am a SAHM but will be going to back to work soon. So right now I don't necessarily have to do a 5:30am workout. I just go run with DS in jogging stroller or go to gym when DH gets home. Buuut when I go back to work I am going to HAVE to do 5:30workouts because of new schedule so I would really like to get used to it now.
ETA: The gym I belong to is a 5 minutes drive from my house. I'm usually out the door by 5:15 am and home by 6:30 am. This just works well for me because I'm up and able to get some stuff done around the house before kiddos/DH wake up.
Usually Molly will wake up around 7 and after I feed her, she'll go back down for a couple of more hours.
I don't do 5 am gym call every morning, but I try to go at least 3 days during the week, plus both weekends (but weekends are much later, like during nap time.)
usually in the am, after DS has finished eating bfast, so it doesn't get too hot. We walk for an hour or so, about 3 miles and then play at the park on the way home.

I've done the 5:30 gym class and that is actually my favorite time to workout. I would pack my stuff the night before and just throw on workout clothes in the morning and serve myself coffee in the travel mug. I would shower and dress at the gym and head to work. It was nice to be able to get dressed in morning alone without the stress of getting everyone going in the morning. It forced us to have everything ready the night before and forced ex to help in the morning. Now that I'm alone I have to do lunch and 1x a week spin class in the afternoon and daddy or mil pick up the kids.
Rosie, if you're a gold's member we can meet for the 5:30 pm wednesday spin class after your DH has his race.
ETA: while waking up sucks your morning at work go so much better and it's nice to have that feeling that you are done with your work out for the day.
I'm also wondering if, when I get this thyroid thing worked out, I will have an easier time getting up and feeling energized in the mornings.
This is absolutely the case for me. I started on 5 mcg of Liothyronine and it didn't do much, then 10, 15 and now I'm up to 20 and it's making a HUGE difference. More energy, I'm nicer, more patience, less moody, dh and I are getting along a lot more and my libido is back. I'm up and going in the morning and no longer dragging through my day. The exercise alone helps me with energy levels too though...

Sleep? Explain this "sleep" thing you speak of
I don't.
I know..that doesn't really help.

I'm asleep by 10. DD also STTN, so that helps.
