Stomach getting smaller? Not growing?

It seems like I was growing much more rapidly in the beginning of the pregnancy than I am now. I'm 17 weeks, 2 days and it almost seems like my stomach has either stopped growing, or has gotten a lil smaller. I had a 16 week check-up and the doctor said the heartbeat was good and everything seemed fine.

Anyone else experience something similar? I guessed I've chosen week 17 to have my latest neurotic episode. Embarrassed

My belly looks small the last couple of days.. I tell myself that I would have noticed if baby had gone anywhere as there is only 1 way out!

LOL! You're absolutely right. I just get so paranoid that he/she is sick (or worse). I am a natural worry wort, and I know I should not be, but I seem to worry about every little thing. I think until I start to feel the baby move, I'll probably continue to worry/obsess a little. People always say "don't worry", but it's a lot easier said than done. Thanks for making me laugh! Wink

We were talking about that on the October board. Quite a few ladies noticed this at round 17 weeks. It doesn't last, trust me. Before you know it, you'll feel like a mid-sized SUV. No worries. Your baby is nice and safe in there.

Wow! Where do I find the October board? I just visit the trimester boards. I'm due 10/31 (Halloween baby in the house!! LOL!!). I feel like I really haven't grown at all since like 14 weeks. As crazy as it sounds, I can't wait to pop! Thank you TOO for making me laugh.

Don't worry, I'm in the same boat as you. After gaining about 8 lbs in the first trimester, I have hardly gained any the past month. I also feel my stomach is getting smaller and not feeling anything from the baby, I too am worried. I can't wait until I actually look like I'm pregnant, not just beer belly-ish. I have my 16 week appt this week and hope everything is fine. (I'm actually in my 18th week, though, had to push appts back because of trips out of town).

You'll notie your belly growing and seemingly shrinking. It's just the positioning of your uterus as well as your organs. Anytime I notice my belly appearing smaller, I can definitely notice it higher up in my rib cage.

I had the same thing happen, about the same time! (So a week and a half ago for me.) I think I just finally got rid of the bloating and constipation of the first trimester. It's awesome, now I'm fitting into my old size 8s that I had to put away almost a year ago! Apparently this baby wants me to be a svelte mama. I think DH put him up to it... lol.
