overnight with dad...at what age?

My ex boyfriend wants to take our 3 mos old daughter to stay the night with him once a week. I think he's out of his mind, we dont have any court order anything because we communicate well with each other and as of right now we havent had issues with him coming over to see her, but now he wants to take her, so my question is, Im in california (i know the laws are different in every state) at what age can he take her overnight?

    Depends on the judge some would say that he is perfectly capable to provide overnight for the child.  Others go by the 18 months benchmark.

    Protect EVERYONE's intersts and get a court ordered parenting agreement

    my only concern (which i posted about earlier) is if he takes her & you guys don't have a custody order in place, even though you guys communicate well, if he decides he doesn't want to give her back, does he have to? So you might want to check into that before agreeing to let him take her. I also feel like 3 months is kind of young to do an overnight. I probably wouldn't start until 9-12months personally.

    Are you breastfeeding? If so, it's not unreasonable to expect no overnights until the baby is sleeping through the night.  My older son didn't until 15 months, and my 7 month old still nurses several times at night.  I'm gunning for at least 12 months, and I think most judges will abide by that.

    The judge let him start having overnights at 16 months.

    X and I broke up when DS was 3 months old and he started having him every other weekend right away. I'm a very big advocate for dad's having equal rights as mom.
