I am booking a trip for July and considering travel insurance should something go awry. However, reading the fine print, it says it will not reimburse or credit any delay or cancelation due to normal pregnancy (unless you are hospitalized)...my question is what is "normal" if I miscarry or am put on bed rest do I need to request a hospital stay?? Or is that not considered "normal" pregnancy? Anyone have any experience with this?
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!

Re: Travel Insurance
I have no experience with this, but here's my two cents
1. I would book the trip. If you have questions about the travel insurance, call the provider and ask for specifics.
2. Before you book, talk to your doctor if you're still concerned about going. They know your history and can tell you if your concerns are valid or just normal worry.
Ultimately, whatever makes you feel better about the situation is the best thing to do. I hope I helped some and I hope you get to enjoy your trip!
Thanks. I booked it without the insurance. The fine print seemed to state that the flight is refundable minus a fee and that the room can be canceled at anytime up to one day prior. Seems odd, but I'd rather beg out and pay a few fews if we need to than pay a fee up front and be unsure if it covers what I may need.
FWIW, my doctor said I can certainly fly and go on vacation and she is going to discuss anti-anxiety meds with me when I go in. I am a terrible flyer.
Well I'm glad you booked it! I am a pretty nervous flyer, and I flew 5 days after I got my bfp and 6 days after that.
I couldn't have my usual pre-flight cocktail LOL so I had to wing it!
Luckily I had some nice "neighbors" on the flight who wanted to chat and they kept me from being too nervous. I hope you have fun!
I know the pre flight cocktail is key... lol
DH will do his best to calm me and hopefully my doctor will have something even mild for me to take.
This is our first one week vacation in two years. We've done a variety of long weekends, but nothing for a full week. I am pretty psyched!
There is some"cancel for any reason" insurance out there. It usually costs a little more than "regular" travel insurance though.
If you booked through an agent, or through a tour company they can give you more info. Some tour companies offer this type of policy themselves.
Also, assuming you booked with a credit card, you can check with them to see if there is any automatic travelers insurance when you make the purchase with their card.
I can't remember the travel insurance I offered when I was an agent (been too many years!) but I think it was something like Travelex?
That all said.. I'm going to the caribbean next week and we didn't get any insurance. We didn't think we'd get pregnant this fast and figured this would be like a babymoon.
