I just finished day 3 of the 30 Day Shred and am loving it! I'm determined to get rid of this extra weight once and for all! I have about 50lbs total to lose to get back into a healthy range. I love how quick and easy it is to pop this DVD in while DD is napping or playing.
Where would I find info on how many calories/fat etc I should be taking in to lose weight? I am so absolutely clueless and don't know where to start in building healthier eating habits other than everything in moderation. Anyone have any suggestions for a health & fitness newbie?
TIA
Re: Question from a Newbie
The most important thing is to track everything you eat. I love this website:
https://caloriecount.about.com
It is free and allows you to track your food. It will also ask you questions about your weight and activity level and give you a calorie goal. In addition, each day it gives you a grade based on the calorie, fat, protein, sodium, fiber, etc...in your diet. I know there are other sites out there that are similar. This one seems to have the best food database.
I would also recommend Weight Watchers either online or meetings.
Good luck!
www.sparkpeople.com is a great website. It's 100% free but they have a food tracker, exercise tracker, all sorts of really great support options along with workout videos right on the website. In the past couple of years they've really started to get a lot of attention from the media for what a great program they have and the great results they are seeing! I had really great success with them myself before my wedding.
Hope that helps!
