Is anyone measuring small? At my appointment yesterday I was only measuring 32cm at almost 36 weeks. I'm going to have a growth u/s tomorrow. Any experience with this? My first baby was 9lbs, 2oz, so this totally caught me off guard.
I am also going through this. I had a growth U/S last week at 37 weeks and baby was only measuring 35 weeks and 5lbs 10oz so they want to do another U/S this week. They were even talking about extending my due date by two weeks!!! At this point in the game I dont think that ultrasounds are that accurate in measuring weight or size, in fact I have had several friends confirm this with their past experiences, with one having a growth U/S measuring the baby at 6lb 10 oz, and later that day giving birth to a very healthy 7lb 11oz baby boy.
I say, dont freak out as long as everything is confirmed to be working properly. If the baby is getting adequate nutrition and your belly measurement is a little off, it may just be the way your uterus is sitting in your abdomen. The growth U/S will tell them that baby is healthy, but dont read too much into size.
At my 32 week appt I was measuring at 31 and at my 37 week I was at about 34. My doctor said it is because my baby dropped and is very low, so it's no big deal. She weighs about 6 pounds so all is good
This happened to me in my first pregnancy and I was super nervous, so I went for the growth U/S and they said most likely he's just a peanut, and at 13 months now he still is a peanut in the 3rd percentile. I just had my 35 week appt yesterday and the dr said once again I'm measuring small and have to so for a growth U/S again tomorrow. I'm hoping it's the same case as last time!!
I measured small my whole pregnancy with DS. He was born at 41 weeks and I was measuring 38 weeks. I had a growth u/s and they said everything was fine. He was only 7lbs and 21 inches.
With DD I am again measuring small. At 30 weeks I was measuring 27. My doctor said some women just measure small.

My belly was measuring behind (28w at my 30w checkup) but when I had my growth U/S the baby was measuring right on.....it was just the way I am carrying. I must have caught up or baby moved or something b/c at my 34 week checkup my belly was measuring 34w.
Yes, I recently had a very similar experience. I measured 29w at my 30w appt (no biggie) but then I measured 28w at my 34w appt (yes, smaller than I had measured a month before).
My MW freaked a bit and sent me in for a NST and a growth u/s on a saturday. MW said she call to discuss results on sunday but never did. I'm figuring no news is good news. plus the nst went fine and baby was measuring in the 40% at the u/s.
My docs kept telling me I would have a small baby the last time and DS was a healthy 8lb3oz. Fundal height can just be really off (up to 14 weeks off at this point my u/s tech said). As long as your growth u/s and NSTs are fine, I'm sure everything is ok!
Two weeks ago at my 35 week appointment I was measuring 32 weeks so I went for a growth u/s. The doctor said I might have just dropped but wanted to do a growth u/s anyways. I had it done and baby girl was measuring 4lbs 13oz which is small for 35 weeks. I was set up for biweekly NSTs and she has done fine with all of those. I had another u/s last week to check blood flow in the umbilical cord to make sure she isn't having a hard time getting nutrients and everything looked fine with that but my fluid level was on the low side of normal. The doctor said that my baby girl might just be tiny and nothing seemed to be wrong with her. I go back for another growth u/s this week to see if there are any changes.
