Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
Question of the Week (QOTW):
Im really running out of ideas for QOTW!!! HELP!
QOTD brought to you by PEPPERNUT!!
How's your SO (or family, if you are going solo) handling the pregnancy? Is he or she a shining beacon of helpfulness, completely passive, or somewhere in the middle?
**If you have ideas for future QOTW, let me know (either post question ideas with your update, PM me, or email me at blueeyedwitch09 at aol dot com)!**
Re: ***Welcome to the Pregnant after 35 Weekly Check-In! ***
I'm feeling tired. Most nights I wake up to go to the bathroom and can't go back to sleep. I have a ds who is 4 months adjusted age and he keeps me busy.
Today I am half way there at 20 weeks.
My dh is FABULOUS! He's very hands on and helps a lot. He is able to work from home one day a week and then has one day off during the week (he works longer hours the other days). So he is there for doctor appointments and helps around the house.
I'm feeling tired also...but not b/c of the awful first tri fatigue, but b/c I'm up all night going to the bathroom! So, it's been frustrating dealing with that and trying to stay awake at work, but other than that, no complaints.
My husband has been awesome! He is very helpful and understanding and treats me like a princess. He doesn't want me doing much when I get home from work, so he's really been stepping up with the cooking and cleaning. He knows I'm not sleeping, so he just wants me to rest as much as I can. He's really been great and I couldn't ask for more. I feel very lucky to have him!

The ankle and feet swelling is my biggest complaint. Otherwise, I feel great (but huge).
DH is not so helpful. When I ask him to do things like lift something - he reminds me that I'm gong to have to be lifting a heavy baby soon.
He also makes idiotic remarks. I'm trying for a natural birth. Today, I have to get a crown on one of my molars. He suggested that I ask the dentist to forego any numbing so that I could "prepare" and start getting used to intense pain before the baby comes. WTF?
Pretty sure his intentions are good-willed, BUT men can be so clueless sometimes.

My fiance has been beyond awesome with everything associated with the pregnancy. He comes to every sonogram (and since I'm there weekly, that's a lot of sonograms, even this early on), and knows more about baby stuff than I do. He's also very understanding about how completely exhausted I am. That's my most obvious pregnancy symptom (well, that and my poor overtaxed bladder). I had no idea how being knocked up would whoop my patoot.
Me: 42, DH: 40; Surprise BFP 4/27/2011; no heartbeat at 9w3d, we miss you, Baby Manatee; D&C 6/1/2011; AF returned 6/26/2011; Ready to try for our take-home baby. 7/24/2011--BFP! Peanut born March 2012; BFP: 7/31/2013!; blighted ovum at 7 weeks 8/26/2013. Holy Cannoli! BFP 2/23/2014. EDD 11/6/2014!
Tired here too, waking up all night to pee is a royal pain. I am also feeling like this baby has ran out of room. I feel like I don't even have room to eat anything its a bloated over ate type of feeling and it's very uncomfortable. I can't really sit for long unless I lean back. Still dealing with heart burn, and I can't believe how hot I feel all the time I'm not used to this heat here. Getting tired and weak seems to be my new normal life for the remainder maybe.
QOTW- My husband is awesome he helps out so much and also my older kids they pretty much do everything for me so I can really take it easy.
I'm feeling bloated. By 6pm every night my stomach looks like a boule that needs to be punched down for its second rise. And since all that gas has to come out one way or another, I'm just a real pleasure to be around. But DH just smiles and laughs as I lay on the couch making all kinds of lovely noises.
I found out last week that I'm going to be out of town for work during my 11th and 12th week. I'm a little nervous about waiting until week 13 to do my NT scan, but it is what it is.
QOTW: We have a boat that we used to live on. Now that we are back in the frigid north, we live on land during the winter while it is stored on the hard. But we'll be moving back aboard for the summer, which I'm really looking forward to. Usually this time of year I'd be up to my elbows in bottom paint and other nasty substances, but this year I've been excused from all that and DH has done the dirty work. So I'd put him in the helpful category.
My DH is awesome, especially helping out taking care of DD. I'm so excited for us to have another because he is a great dad!
I'm feeling well, but totally anxious about our anatomy scan on June 1st. CVS and AFP tests were normal, but I'm still worrying. Hope the day comes soon.
I'm trying to come up with a few ideas for questions. These may have already been used by here are some (hopefully not lame) ideas:
-How did you come up with / agree on LO's name?
-Anyone trying for VBAC?
-Anyone going without pain meds?
-Biggest fear about delivery / having newborn , etc.
-Anyone used Bradley / Lamaze / Hypnobirth?
Do you have enough strength to throat-punch him?!
Updates: Feeling pretty good despite the swollen cankles & feet. Had one of my many BPP scans today - LO is breech & measuring 4 days ahead & weights 4lbs 10ozs! We got to see LO sucking his thumb & kicking the umbilical cord out of his way. My Peri has scheduled NSTs for the next 3 Fridays .. yay/sarcasm. I'm really preparing my psyche for a C-section .. this kid is going to be big/breech/stubborn.
Question of the Week (QOTW):
DH has been great .. we've had this agreement on not 'babying' me until the last trimester & he has kicked in right on cue. Because he's a teacher, he missed quite a few dr. appts, but this morning he was right there with me at my 7am Peri appt. He's super excited & can't wait to hold LO in his arms!
I am feeling pretty good and we are just trying to get everything ready for the big arrival.
QOTD: DH has been great. He's gone every other week for work, but he's been very understanding that I don't get as much done during the weeks that he's gone as I used to, and he has really picked up the slack. As I get further along, he's become more and more doting, which is really sweet.
Hello--Denise here (clipingirl). Feeling really GREAT!!! YAY 2nd TRI!!! Although I'm eating a LOT....is that normal? Walking almost daily with hikes every 2 to 3 days.
My DH is super supportive. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful guy. He tells me I'm beautiful daily (although I don't feel beautiful MANY days). Brings me ice water and rubs my back. He says that carrying his baby is "so sexy"--LOL! What a sweet man.
Looking forward to hearing updates from our board...this is a great community!

Updates: Still feeling great. No m/s, and some fatigue but it's manageable. I stopped taking my allergy meds before getting KU and I'm really suffering with allergies. Just bought a neti pot and hoping that works. Otherwise, I really can't complain.
QOTD: My DH is awesome. He's very helpful and shows an interest in everything that is going on.
Hi!
I'm Amy (aka preggyamy) and I'm not due until 1/24/12. DH has been great, although I don't have any symptoms, other than sore breasts, which may be due to the progesterone supplements. I'm anxiously awaiting my first U/S on May31st. I'm pretty nervous, and trying to not constantly worry about a m/c.
Thanks for a great board!
Amy
I am doing well. Had a day of bad BH contractions and went in to get checked. Everything was fine, so that was reassuring.
My DH is being as helpful as he can be for never being home. Poor guy's job is non-stop. It will slow down in July (hopefully). My twins are also pretty helpful for only being 6 years old.
I am doing great. Baby girl is an active one and is moving all the time, I really like it. I'm trying to explain to our daughter about the arrival of her baby sister which is fun - she is pointing at everybody's belly and says there is a baby inside...
My DH is really not any different than before I was pregnant, nor would I need him to be. His work is pretty busy right now and mine is not too bad. He does lift our 27-pound toddler more than usually when he is around.
This will be my last weekly update with an inside baby! Tomorrow is D-Day via C/S and I am SO ready! Pregnant 39 weeks 4 days is enough, haha!
I am SO over being pregnant and ready to meet my son. I wish all of you Mommas to be a happy, healthy and good pregnancy!
Why yes, yes I do. I think he thinks he is funny. So NOT funny. God forbid he pull a remark like that in the middle of labor and I accidentally rip something off of him (e.g., arm) or actually punch him out. I told him that he needs to work on his coaching style. To which he made up a funny cheer.

due date mid november (my ticker says 13 weeks but I'm 14wks 5 days)
will find out gender on June 28th
I am lucky and didn't have m/s. Not so much a fan of being pregnant. i just feel fat and bloated. I hate the way ppl talk to you/treat you (especially mothers) after they find out you are pregnant. I feel that I can't express any feelings or else I am being "hormonal". I am excited to be a mother but could do without the nine months prior. sorry been a rough few days.
I'm so tired and can't stop peeing! The baby has "engaged my pelvic" and I can feel his head turning down there. It's so weird because I never felt that with my other 3 kids.
My kids, SO and family can't wait to "see" this baby! And me too! 35 days to go but we'll see what he has in mind.
Hi All,
I joined awhile ago, but have not posted as much.

It's a boy!
Physically, I am fine! I had an appointment today, everything is on track and looks good. I'm on the two-week schedule now, woo!
I did have a crown put on today as well. I'm really impressed by my new dentist, she did a great job... and they have little personal movie players to distract you! I watched "Tangled." Also, she's due a week after I am!
DH is... well... he means well, but I think I am doing so well physically he forgets that even a healthy, strong pregnant lady can still be exhausted and need help. Especially when said pregnant lady spends all day chasing a toddler. He does dishes, (into the washer, but not put away) and last night he made crepes for dessert, but that's really all. Oh, he does lift for me when he thinks about it. I am getting itchy to get the new baby shopping and setup done, and he is in no hurry at all. We haven't even started. I don't drive, so I really do need his help here. *sigh*
ANYway.
Next week possible QOTW - Two questions, linked - On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being "not at all" and 10 being "OMG very," how scared are you of the birth process? How excited are you about it?
How's your SO (or family, if you are going solo) handling the pregnancy? Is he or she a shining beacon of helpfulness, completely passive, or somewhere in the middle?
DH is ... for the most part ... a good guy. Since we are only 10 weeks and going thru it a second time, he is a bit chill.
I am doing good. we are having a boy. he is doing great. the only thing going on is a low lying placenta. i hope it moves up.
qotw: my dh is helpful. he lifts are son a lot. but does not fully understand i should not be mulching (lifting it) and should not be moving furniture due to the low lying placenta. otherwise he is very helpful

DH was feeling surreal about it all - it didn't feel concrete, I guess...but last week we saw the baby and heard the heartbeat, and he's started to do things like touch the tummy area and say "I love you" - he was tickled when I mentioned that the baby is roughly the size of a blueberry.
I'm having a terrible time staying asleep and going to sleep. I am tired all the time. The morning sickness feels like a rollercoaster ride post chili-dogs...I hate it, and didn't experience it with my other pregnancies.

sex of baby (if known, or will it be a surprise?) Still to early to tell.
UPDATE: Morning sickness definitely subsiding. Still have lots of saliva and metalic taste, but feeling much better. Tiredness is still kicking my butt. I went to bed at 7pm last night and didnt even have the energy to bath Salua. Felt much better today.
QOTW: SO doesnt treat me any different to if i wasnt pregnant. Doesnt empathise, or offer to help in any way. Thinks i should just man up and get on with it more or less. Plenty of women do it tougher than me.
I do want to throat punch him alot of the time at the moment as Im very independent and usually do everything by myself anyway, but at the moment I would like to feel taken care of *sigh*
Rant over
I can't believe I still have 6 weeks to go. I try not to complain but frankly, I'm tired, I'm huge, I'm excited to meet this boy. Ok. enough whining.
Overall, I'm still doing pretty good. No heartburn, no Braxton Hicks, no real physical pain. I'm sleeping soundly through the night (one or two bathroom trips but NO issues falling back asleep), I still sleep comfortably and partly on my tummy (one knee bent up, tummy to the side - but that's how I've always slept). M/S even seems better - still there but better. it's been awhile since I've actually thrown up (which, frankly, is something of a miracle!)
In terms of DH helping? Yes. As much as I let him. He's been working his tush off and the kids are helping more too - but I'm fiercely independant and try to "pull my weight" Yesterday I spent about 2 hours on my hands and knees scrubbing our hardwood floors (they were TRASHED - our 2 big dogs are inside/outside dogs and I'm not the best housekeeper). Today I'm paying for it...zzzzzzzzz

Updates:
I currently have a sinus infection, but am on the mend. I have a DA on June 1. I will be 14 wks by then. Still nauseous from time to time, heartburn sometimes, and hotflashes have crept at times.
QOTW:
My SO is so excited. He's really praying for a boy after having 3 girls. :-D He's been great! Been at my beck and call.
Can you add me?

Updates- Well, it's been awhile since I've posted an update. so this may be a little long!
I had a little scare about a month ago with cramping and heavy bleeding at 9 weeks. Never had that with my first 2, so I was hysterical to say the least. U/S showed them partying away in there and the cause of the problem couldn't be determined. By the time I got home from the u/s the problem had stopped.
I had my NT scan and the results came back well. I still have to go for AFP draw. I also had a level 3(?) u/s and it's determined they have separate sacs and placentas. My oldest is wrapping up his last days of 5th grade and we are gonna take a short vacay/"twin-moon" this weekend. In two weeks, my dr is going to start me on weekly 17ahp shots since I had preterm labor with both my prior 2 kids, and he also wants to schedule the steroid shots as well to ensure lung development in case they come really early anyway.
After the N/T scan/level 3 they are saying my 40 week due date is 11/10 (still scratching my head on that one), but my dr said he will most likely induce/schedule c/s somewhere around 37 weeks as long as their weights are good and lungs look okay. So, that puts D Day somewhere mid-October now. He's also advised me to slow it wayyy down and retire from a lot of the volunteer offices I hold, and start discouraging my 2 year old from being carried unless absolutely necessary, ie putting her in her carseat, etc.
QOTW- so with all of the dr's rec's and the scare I had a few weeks ago, DH hired a part time housekeeper to come twice a month and do the major housework- scrubbing bathrooms, kitchen, mopping, vacuuming, etc. Since we live in a split level house he doesn't want me hauling the vacuum up and down the steps. In the other days, my son is learning to vacuum the traffic areas for me and take out the trash. DH is working 60-70 hrs right now so we are really looking forward to our little vacay this weekend!
sorry to write a novel ....

I had pretty bad morning sickness last week...4-6 times everyday last week. It's much better this week...1-2 times daily and NONE today!!
My husband has been wonderful. He makes my dinner, and he has even rubbed my feet!! He hates to do that! He has also started going to my doctor appointments too.
By the way...where can I go to learn what all of the abbreviations stand for. I've seen posting that are referring to husband but it has unusual abbreviations. Thanks.
Ready to be off bed rest so I can start prepping to move!! But...will do whatever it takes to have this baby healthy. No real new anything other than hitting the "honeymoon phase"...of course we WOULD be on total restriction! Not just intercourse...but I am totally prohibited =(
Oh my husband...total angel. He made me mac&cheese with turkey dogs 2 days in a row! I am completely spoiled by the most terrific man ever to walk the earth. He actually knows what I am craving before I know and will have it for me. He always treated me like a queen before we got pregnant and now...every woman should be this lucky. Good thing he is in total love with me!!

sex of baby (if known, or will it be a surprise?) We're team green. For now.
DH-has been great. He takes over with our two girls if I'm too tired at night. Very sweet.
Adding myself to the check-in. I am 37 and my DD will be born 1 month and a day after my 38th birthday. My DD is due 8-31-2011. Hope it won't be to hot.
Is he not aware that lifting heavy things while the baby is still IN your body is dangerous? I mean, this is not hard to grasp. Maybe you should ask your OB to go over some of these things in your next appt, making sure DH is there.
My DH makes a lot of dumb comments too, but mostly about my appearance...and mostly because he's a bit clueless. My sense of humor has disappeared with this pregnancy. But he's great about my health and such.
