Stay at Home Moms

potty training question

DS has been doing great with potty training. The only problem we've been having is he'll have damp underwear and shorts all the time recently. Not a fully accident, but just a little damp. I used the three day potty training method, but all they say about this issue is to remind the child to keep undies dry. DS can go several hours without using the potty, so I know it's not a matter of not having the bladder control? I think? Any ideas or tips?

Have him use the potty more frequently.

My almost 3 year old can't hold it for hours.

  • I agree with PP.  Maybe give him only an hour and a half/2 hours between bathroom breaks.  Set a timer when it gets close and when he hears the beep he has to go.  That might help...

  • What is the three day potty training method?
  • Let me clarify. I don't ask him to hold it for hours, however he has done so in the past. This is a recent issue. I offer the potty to his every 15 mins and he's just constantly having damp undies.
