I went back to work part time.

I started work last Monday and the kids started daycare the Thursday before that.  I am working each day from 10:30 - 2:30, so the kids basically have snack, play, lunch, and then nap.  They are just getting up when I pick them up.  I was so nervous and sad about doing this, but it's been wonderful! I also have a job I absolutely love and went to school for, so I truly missed my days at work.  I was more nervous about missing my kids and their daily moments, etc.  Well, it seems they're loving school and they kiss and hugs their teachers good-bye and are just so happy.  I have found myself already addicted to the adult time I now get each day.  I just wanted to share my positive experience for those of you considering a going back at any time.  I feel I have found the best of both worlds for me.

    I'm glad you found a balance that works for you!  I went back to work part time about a month ago.  It's great!  I worked full time when DD1 was small and it was terrible.  I liked being a SAHM but now I definitely feel like I'm getting best of both worlds, like you said.

    Good for you!  4 hours a day sounds like heaven to me and probably what I'll look for once the kids are in school.

    I work a similar schedule as well and really enjoy it. Glad it's working well for you!  :)

    I work part time 3 days a week, and it feels great to get out of the house and away from daily household tasks!  I seem to get more done now, and dont mind it as much.  Glad you are liking it!
