Dopplers???

How many of you have or are thinking of buying/renting a Doppler? Do any of you have one already?

I am debating on getting one, so can you please share your experience or opinions about them? Whe is the best time to get one?

(In Canada these are the rental rates, and I am not sure what is the best, what do you think?)

   ? Month-to-month fetal doppler rental for $44/month (plus HST)
   ? prepay for 2 months of fetal doppler rental for $84 (plus HST)
   ? SPECIAL prepay for 3 months of fetal doppler rental for $99 (plus HST)
   ? prepay for 4 months of fetal doppler rental for $139 (plus HST)
   ?prepay for 5 months of fetal doppler rental for $169 (plus HST)
   ? SPECIAL prepay for 6 months of fetal doppler rental for $189 (plus HST)
   ? Gently used dopplers for $470 (plus HST)

I'm not getting one because i'm nervous enough as it is being PGAL, but Amazon has some perfectly suitable ones for SALE for $50-$100. I def. wouldn't spend that much to rent one, especially if this isn't your last baby.

I'm definitely considering it but I'm not sure I should because I know I'll just be even more of a nervous wreck with one! lol

I have one from when I was pregnant with my 3rd child. It looks just like the one at the doctors office. I rented until I bought, so I have one for keeps. I am excited to use it again!

I just need to find it...I have seen it somewhere around my house.

I think its a cool idea but I'm also PGAL so it would make me super nervous if I didn't hear a heartbeat right away. You can always wait until later in your pregnancy and get a stethoscope for $20 and listen that way. I did that with my DS and it worked great!

I bought the angelsounds one on amazon for my last pregnancy and loved it. It helped keep me sane in-between appts, but as I learned through that pregnancy, a strong hb isn't always assurance everything is fine. That being said, I definitely plan to use it again this time starting around 9-10 weeks (when I heard it last time)

I have one that I used with DS. I don't remember the brand but I just did a google search to find it. I paid about $100. Listening to him was part of our nightly ritual. DH and I both loved it. I was able to hear him starting about 10 weeks. I will def use it again and I feel it was well worth the money.

I rented one for both pg. I got it around 10 weeks. I wouldn't buy one though.

I just bought one off e-bay for $60.00. I have heard good things about the sonoline B Fetal Heartrate Monitor. Check it out. I figured for $60.00 I could use it or sell it or give it to a friend later on and still be ahead of what it would be if I rented every month.
