Re: XP: Tut for homemade sidewalk chalk (LIP)

  • Can't you just buy like 8 or 10 pieces at the dollar store for a $1.00?  I am all for crafty, but this seems like make work.

I was totally thinking this... Crafty is good, but why spend the money to make something you could buy ready made for less?

  • Well I just look at it at as a cool experiment/activity to do with the kids, not necessarily as a money saver.

Personally, I'm all for making things myself and knowing exactly what goes into them.

It certainly isn't for everyone but I just thought it was something neat to share...sorry.

Oh and many, many times in the world of crafting you can buy something cheaper than you can make it yourself, especially in the world of knitting and sewing.  Not saying that in some cases it can't be cheaper but thats not always the point.

  • I was thinking the same thing as Joe chalk is sooooooo cheap it would cost twice as much to make it this way and who really cares what their chalk is made of?

a parent of a LO that could possibly put the chalk or residue from it in their mouth.

So it is better for them to put plaster, and paint in their mouths? It is not like the ingrediants they used were all natural or something, this would make sense if that were the case, but in this tutorial it is not.
