Hi All, I am new to the bump. I usually just stay on the nest on my Anniversary board, but from time to time I lurk around here and read the interesting posts DH and I talk about TTC next year. Recently two couples we are friends with had babies (both in April) and two more are expecting. One is due very soon - in July and the other one just announced the news and is due in November. Since their due dates are so spread out, I keep wondering what's the best time to have the baby.
I know it's not really a choice - you start trying and either you get pregnant and it sticks, or you miscarry, and you have to keep trying, or nothing happens for months until you suddenly get pregnant when you least expected... or something yet different. What I am wondering is, for those of you who are moms, what was your experience having your baby in the spring, compared to those who had theirs in the summer, fall or winter?
DH keeps saying he wants the baby in December, he justifies it by something he read about the winter babies' school achievements. He also says that for me it would be best because I would be the biggest during a cooler weather, but not freezing cold, and not during the summer...
What is your experience?
Re: Hi and a question
Hi, welcome I am new too!
My brother and I were both born in August and my mom said it was quite miserable being in the third trimester in the heat of high summer. I am trying to get pregnant now so that I will be due in early spring or so, I'd like to go through the colder months pregnant so there's less of that uncomfortable feeling, I know exactly what you are thinking there. Plus I would think newborns born into somewhat warmer times of the year have some time to toughen up a little and get some immune systems going before the cold seasons start. I've never heard the whole winter babies school thing before. So I don't know what to tell you there. Anyhow, good luck with whatever decision you make!
Hi and welcome.
I never thought about it.
December babies get the shaft when it comes to birthdays and Christmas.
We adopted DD, so she just showed up one spring morning.
That's so sweet!
