nervous after 8 week appointment

Hey. We just got back from our 8 week appointment. One good thing that was really neat was that we were able to see a heartbeat- which was pretty cool.

But one thing made me nervous- I'm measuring small, according to the measurements our doctor took the fetus is 5.6 mm (measuring only about 6 weeks 4 days rather than 7weeks 6 days). We were small last time too, at our 6 week appointment we were measuring only about 5 weeks. She actually asked me then if I was sure of when my last period was- I had been charting so I know our dates are right.

I just had to post for some support. We are going back in again in two weeks because she wants to see us again soon- she didn't want us to wait a full month. But she also gave us directions to call her if anything happens/changes which also made me feel a bit nervous.

    Sorry it's making you so nervous!  Try to be positive that there was a heartbeat and hopefully all will continue to be well at the next appt!

    A strong heartbeat is great! It sounds like the baby is growing consistently from both appts, so don't worry too much about the baby being a week smaller. A week really isn't that big of a deal. Plus with the added strong heartbeat and the consistency of growth, I'd say you are going to be just fine!

    thanks ladies. I'm going back in again in 2 weeks, and hopefully we will have some more news. I'm excited we saw a heartbeat, so I'm taking that as great news.

    I'm sure its just one of those things that I probably don't need to be worrying about, but at this stage, who isn't worrying!
