My little boy has arrived. I was due May 11th and Lucas was born May 19th at 8:36am weighing 7lbs 6oz.

I can't believe how much I am in love with him.

Labour was long and rough. He was turned the wrong way (front facing) and I was very slow to progress plus he had meconium in the AF. I was in Pre-labor for 25 hours plus another 12 hours of active labour before I even started pushing. I couldn't stop vomiting the whole time. It was rough. My water eventually broke when I was in the bathtub at the hospital.

After 12 hours of active labour, I was 9cm dialated and I ended up getting the epidural because I was exhausted. I think I truely gave it my best up until that point. The epidural was a miracle drug. I didn't feel any pain after I got it and It was the only thing that gave me the strength to push effectively.

Because he was stressed because of the meconium and the way he was positioned, they ended up using a vacuum to get him out and I got a fairly large episiotomy.

I am healing pretty well and Lucas is doing awesome. He is a good breastfeeder and my milk has already come in, but I have some nipple damage because of a couple of poor latches. But that is a whole other post.

congrats on your little boy!

Keep trucking through the nip damage. Get a breast shield, lanolin and some breast SHELLS. They will all help the latch and your comfort!! GL!

Ya the nipple damage definitely hurts. But I'm going to try to keep going with it since I have a good milk supply so far and he usually latches good, It was just during the night on Saturday I didn't have him latched properly for a couple feedings, I was tired, he was crying and kept curling his lip and not opening wide so I just let him go for awhile with a bad latch. It caused some blisters/scabbing and ugh does it hurt now. I just came online to do some reading about shields/shells and what I can do to help it heal faster.
