How much breast milk do you feed

Right now LO is 6 weeks and eats 2.5 oz about 9-10 times a day. He has been fussy lately and eating about every 1-2 hours. We tried giving him a bit more per feeding but he seems to just spit it all back up. Is there any other way to make sure he stays full or is more often feeding the best way to keep all the food down?

    Are you sure the fussiness is due to hunger?  Lane has had a lot of gas lately which has made him more fussy.

    Is it the 6 week growth spurt?  I feed on demand, so I let my LO eat as much as often as he wants.  FWIW, the Internet told me that breastfed babies need about 25-30 oz per 24 hours.  I think I read that on Kellymom.

    I breast feed my LO every 3 hours for as long as he wants. When I give him a bottle of BM he usually takes 3.5 to 4 ounces.

    I was thinking it was the 6 week growth spurt but I thought he would keep down a 3 oz bottle. I just wonder why he doesn't, maybe it is gas but if he is not burping lots or farting how would I know?

    At his age he probably should be able to keep more down in one sitting. Is he drinking too fast maybe? My LO takes 4 ounces usually but I have to burp him after every ounce he drinks or he ends up spitting It up.

    when DH gives him a bottle it can be anywhere between 3-5 ounces, depending on the day.  

    Make sure you are getting burps out, and not giving up after the first minute of burping.... sometimes it takes a few minutes of patting to get them out.
