Anyone else have a "high needs" baby? DD has reflux and is high needs. As a single mom, it's been rough. I don't know how else to describe it. How are you coping? Any advice?
I'd say my LO is high needs. Feeding him unfortunately has become dreadful. He is so gassy and has horrible GERD that it takes upwards of an hour to get him to calm down or go back to sleep after feeding him:(. I don't really have any advice. I just keep telling myself this shall pass and he will outgrow this stage. For now, all we can do is be patient. Hang in there!
First, I cannot imagine doing this without a partner, so huge props to you for doing it on your own. I'm really proud of you! Second, to survive I rely on my mom. She watches LO while I go to yoga and massages (for treatment of an injury). Also, gripe water, gas drops, and Zantac. Have you read Dr. Sears The Baby Book? It has a section where they talk about one of their daughters who was high need, and how they reframed the way they were thinking of caring for her. It was really helpful. And, I agree with pp, this too shall pass. Hang in there!
