January 2012 Moms

It freaks me out when I don't feel a "symptom"

I wasn't tired today.  Haven't had any cramping.  Nothing feels pregnant-y.  And that freaks me out.  I feel bloated and gassy but that's it.  I go to my OB June 1 and hope at that time I can put my mind at ease, but until then...

My last pregnancy (that ended in m/c), I had very apparent symptoms of fatigue, sore breasts and nausea right until the day we were at the doctor and found out about the missed m/c.

I just needed to get that out.  Anyone else wondering where the symptoms from last week went??

  • I'm in the same boat.  I've never wanted to regularly vomit so badly. Smile  The only symptom I've really had is sore breasts and that seems to come and go at this point.  I need a sign!!!

  • First off, being a PAL girl, I know what you're talking about. I've been living the nightmare since I found out I was pregnant three weeks ago! First u/s isn't until Wednesday.

But...I did read somewhere from a doctor that symptoms (whether lack thereof or presence of) are NOT an indicator of the viability of a pregnancy. And I think all of us know at least one person where this is true. There are woman who had a drop off of symptoms and they miscarried. Then there are women who had all the signs of pregnancy and had a miscarriage.

In other words, symptoms are not an indicator of a viable pregnancy. Only time (and a decent ultrasound) will tell. As long as there is no heavy cramping and bleeding then you are pregnant today!

TTC since April 2010, age 40, 3 miscarriages in total IVF w/PGD June 2012 - failed cycle with a genetically perfect embryo, unexplained infertility January 2013 - On to adoption!!!
  • I feel the same way, I woke up not tired and feeling great so naturally I was like...what's going on?!?

I have actually been praying to get a couple of symptoms - I know I'll regret this later, but I really think it would put my mind at ease.  My only symptoms are cramping and back pain (and a little spotting today). No sore boobies, no m/s, no upset stomach, no exhaustion.  I know there isn't anything I can do to prevent this from being another m/c but just feeling pregnant would help me worry less.  So I feel ya!

  • Wish I was drinking the same water as the rest of you!  I am sicker than sick and I can barely keep my eyes open sitting here at the computer and I slept 9 hours last night!  My back hurts, my boobs hurt, my eyes hurt, and I am freezing (don't know if this is due to pregnancy but none the less it is annoying me!)  Thanks for letting me be the crab!! lol!!  I dont want to wish you sickness or pains or fatigue but I hope you the the "feelings" back soon!!

  • yep. I am just trying to enjoy not having to deal with all that and count myself lucky, but it definitely makes me more nervous...

  • I am in the same boat as you! DH text me today asking if I had any symptom and I text him back saying no and that I was kind of worried. Then I realized I should be happy that I am not feeling like crap all day because I heard m/s usually hits around 5 or 6 weeks and I am almost there! I'm continuing to POAS in order to reassure myself that there is still a baby in there until my first appointment on June 8th.

Thank you for this.  I'll just keep reminding myself :)

  • Yeah I have been experiencing the same, my symptoms seemed to disappear on Friday, other than fatigue and overall crankiness. (Seriously, my poor DH - I've been crabby most of this month!) Trying to stay positive for Wednesday's US and be thankful I'm not sick and sore.
