Well, today I had my very first ever acupuncture session. All so hopefully we can convince my body to get moving and kick itself into labor. I've been 2cm dilated for over a week now and before that I was a "loose 1cm" for over 2 weeks. I've had some "real" contractions, but they always end up stopping. I'm now past my due date and my doctor wants to induce... like, yesterday. I pushed her off a little longer at my doc appt this morning, but I know at my next appointment I won't be able to do that. At that point, I'll be a week and a half overdue and I know there's no way the doctor will let me go beyond that (the office policy is to induce between 39 and 40 weeks).
I am really hoping for a natural birth - no drugs to induce and no drugs for pain. I'll get the IV antibiotics for GBS, but that's the extent of the drugs that I want.
So... wish me luck! If I don't go into labor tonight, I have a follow-up acupuncture appointment in the morning. If I don't go into labor after that appointment, then I'll be out some cash but at least I'll feel like I tried an more natural induction method than the doctor wanted. And, I'll still have a week for baby boy to decide that it's his birthday.
Boy #1, born 6/5/2011

Currently... Pregnant with mo/di BOY TWINS! Due September 15. Latest induction will be 37w.
