Yesterday I suddenly began to experience sciatic nerve pain in the lower right side of my back. It's so painful in some moments that I scream. My day has been a waste since I can hardly do anything without being in extreme pain. I'm going to see my doctor, but I know that there's not a whole lot to be done since I've had this before in other pregnancies, although never this early on. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this horrible symptom this early on. Praying I don't have to deal with this the entire time.

Re: Anyone else have sciatic nerve pain?
I think I've had this! It happened to me twice last week. The sharp/shooting pain is in my right lower back/upper butt and just comes out of nowhere. It'll hurt to walk or move the rest of the day and then feel better the next morning. Try putting some heat on it? Thats what I did both times and I think it helps.
I'm only 7 1/2 weeks along so I thought it was a bit early, but talking to some friends, they said they get the pain even when they're not pregnant from time to time.
Hope you feel better
I did before I was pregnant. I have been to the chiropractor a couple of times in the last few years & he says that I am prone to have my hip 'out' on one side. This makes the other side have to compensate & therefore, your nerve can be pinched. I think that is the explanation... I believe it can be worsened by pregnancy.
He has suggested I ice it when I hurt & after work (I am always on my feet). You may also want to see a chiropractor during your pregnancy (if you can swing it & you are comfortable with it). It will probably help you be a little more comfortable if you are all in alignment. I think some specialize in treating expectant mothers, but I think most are trained to use the slightly different techniques required.
Hope it improves for ya!
