DD #1 is 2. I breastfed her until she was about 20 months old, and she doesn't remember at all.
Anyways, I wondered how she would react to me nursing. She saw a picture of a baby nursing in a catalog before lo was born and she said, "Ouch, baby bites!" and I explained to her that the baby was eating and not biting. Apparently she understood.
She's been so funny! She first called it the baby's juice. And when Avery would cry, she'd be sure to tell me that she needed juice!haha Now she understands that it's milk and she likes to sit beside me while I'm nursing. Yesterday she reached over and put her hand on my breast and said, "Addy do it"(meaning she wanted to feed the baby). haha I couldn't help but laugh!! The things kids say and do just crack me up!
It's been so much fun having the two girls, I feel so blessed!!
Anyone else have funny stories about their lo's?! Gotta love toddlers!
Re: If you have a toddler, and are bf lo
My DS loves to 'help' burp his sister. I only bf'd him for 5 months (supply tanked when I went back to work) so I know he doesn't remember. He's starting to get very jealous of the time I spend with DD while nursing but he is a big help with her. He pats her back when she cries and will sssh her. He also loves helping take her out of her carseat.
2u2 is definitely a lot harder than having 1 child, but it is pretty amazing. It makes me smile seeing him give his sister a kiss

I've been wondering about DS's reaction to this. I nursed him until 18 months and wonder if he will remember at all, or have any jealousy issues...
Just can't wait to see how he reacts overall! Your stories are too cute and make me even more excited for LO#2 to arrive!!!

I nursed Ankaret up until my milk dried up when I was pregnant with this one. She stopped nursing just before Christmas, and she definitely still remembers. At first she was possessive over one side and said it was her side, but the baby could have the other one. I told her that mummy milk was only for babies, and that big girls got things like strawberries, chocolate and ice cream.
The first time she saw me nursing Kaitlin she demanded her strawberries and chocolate. We were at the hospital, still in the delivery room when they came to visit, but my mum was prepared and had everything on hand 5 minutes away, at home.
Another funny thing that Ankaret said when we were in the hospital was that the wheelchair was a "mummy stroller" and that the lovely mesh panties were "mummy diapers" those observations made me chuckle.
I agree, having 2 girls is fun!
