At the grocery store...a lady stopped to tell me how healthy Rudy looked....I was about to say thanks, but then she said, "but he's cute though!" ....huh...

    Maybe she didn't want you to think it was a back-handed compliment? Y'know, when people see an ugly baby but feel compelled to say something anyways they'll pick something other than "cute" to describe them? Maybe she wanted you to know that he actually did look healthy AND cute, and she wasn't using "healthy" as a euphemism.

    Still, that's a tad awkward.
