  • Hey lady! Thanks for checking on me. I had my blood drawn this morning, I'm feeling anxious about it even though the spotting seems to have dissapeared (fx it stays that way!) Yesterday was a milestone in that my last pregnancy we found out it was ectopic at 5w3d, I should feel better today.  I'm glad I have another beta today, hopefully good news! I'll update when I get it, but it might not be until tomorrow.

The weekend was ok, we're having tenant issues that are going to blow up probably tonight (ie. I'm going to blow up at them). I didn't get much done w/ the garden b/c the weather has been crappy BUT I did get some pepper plants and I can't wait for it to dry up so I can get in the dirt!

How was your weekend? How are you feeling?

  • I can't wait to hear your news! I'm so happy the spotting has cleared up. FX that it stays away! Milestones are so exciting to cross!

My weekend was ok. Just tired and a bit sick but nothing I can't handle. I'm almost thankful for the sickness and bewbie pain. Makes me remember I'm pregnant! If it weren't for that I would have no clue! lol! My tomatoes aren't doing well. I have them in a planter and I thought that would be better than last summer but nope. They are small and I think I have an animal friend who is snatching up the cherry tomatoes before they need to be picked. BOO! I have a green pepper plant in another planter but I've only gotten three peppers. I just don't think I have a green thumb, but I will continue! lol! My dill plants are doing well but the thyme is slow go. My lavendar has yet to bloom. Boo. I'm thinking about making some bread and butter pickles and spicy dill pickles for my friends for christmas. Husband thinks it might be "too hard" for me. HA! probably but we will see how they turn out.

  • I hear ya, I'm thankful for every symptom that reminds me I'm pg! Yesterday I felt really good and then I started to worry. I'm ready for the m/s anytime now. Do you take Zofran or anything for it or just dealing?

That sucks about your tomatoes, that's one of my favorite garden treats. Are you giving it any fertilizer? I swear by miracle grow. I tried to grow in planters once but never had any luck, kudos to you for getting them to grow! Could you get a net to put around them to keep them safe from the theives? :)

Mmmm pickles! Yum! Have you made them before? I loathe canning but in some cases its totally worth it.... pickles definitely make the list! I don't know if you've got any green beans but have you ever tried making Dilly Beans? Omg they are the best thing in the world... the beans stay realy crisp and they pickle quickly so you can eat them in a week or two... and if you put a clove of garlic and some cayenne in each jar they've got a nice kick to them. Mmmm damn.... I need to make some this year. Sooooo yummy!

  • I'm not taking anything for the sickness. I'm not actually throwing up and I can deal. =)

I really need to look into a net or something like that. I am using a fertilizer but only a couple times - maybe I need more?!

hmmmmm, Dilly Beans sound delish - I have never canned before and I always thought it was a hard procedure but I have a recipe from allrecipes.com and it doesn't seem hard. Maybe I don't know the whole thing. Will you take a look and see if it's got all the steps there for me? =)

I'm crossing all that's possible for you today. I really have a good feeling about you but I'm no doctor! lol

  • I'm glad the nausea is tolerable, while I look forward to m/s as another indicator things are going well, I feel terrible for the ladies who get so sick and can't keep anything down.

I highly recommend the miracle grow, its a blue crystal that you can pop right in your watering can. My corn was about 15ft tall last year and I attribute it to the blue... lol! Just don't use too much b/c it can cause other problems if used too heavily... I'd think once every 2 weeks or so would do it.

Canning isn't *hard* but it is time consuming. That recipe sounds excellent!! I have a book called "Putting food by" that is really good for canning and has lots of recipes and helps. I don't have one, but I'm going to get a canning rack this year. The jar lifter is a huge pita and I always burn myself. A funnel so you don't spill is good to have (more for salsa but seems like it would be good for anything you'd pour in). And if you have an outdoor burner (on the grill or a turkey fryer) those are awesome for canning. I always boil over my canner and it makes a huge mess and steams up the house... but I'm also not overly skilled at canning and me & hot water is never a good combo so I might be the exception! It is so fun to be able to pull your own creations out of the cupboard in the middle of winter... and I think my Dh's daughter and son would disown me if I didn't make salsa every year! lol!
