We just repainted our kitchen. It always takes me a week or two to adjust to the change....paint, carpet, new furniture, etc.
We painted the kitchen a pale yellow (I think ice lemon) to give it a fresh, clean and light look.
The granite is black, cabinets are white, appliances stainless and floor is a gray tile pattern. With black and white being dominate I felt like our color choices were limited.
Re: What color is your kitchen?
We're underway with a redo right now. After installing a new wall cabinet to house modern-day appliances (as opposed to our 1963 GE wall oven and matching cooktop and hood), we'll be refacing the cabinets next.
We've opted for chocolate brown on all the cabinets and we're preserving the white and glitter formica countertops that are original to the kitchen. Yes, there's real glitter in there. We'll carry the green (Agave, Benjamin Moore Aura Affinity) of our living room into the kitchen because the rooms are linked.
Once we get a little further along with the redo, we might upgrade the countertops to white Corian - but that's dependent upon any greater renovations that could come down the pipeline.

Here's a quick pic of the weird contrast we have going right now. The cooktop and hood have yet to be replaced (we're plumbing a gas line all the way across the house for our new gas cooktop). Cabinets will be sanded and painted. The flooring is cork.
Ours were red. I like the deep, dark, warm colors. We are thinking of listing our house in the next few weeks. I saw on HGTV they said red was out. But I liked it a lot.
But the pale yellow does make it look larger. I guess that is the point.
Our kitchen is cherry cabinets, grey/white speckled granite and terra cotta type color walls.
They yellow you chose sounds like it's pretty and airy. I am sure it looks great.
I love red in kitchens, but when we listed my condo, our real estate agent had us paint over to a pale blue.
Our current kitchen is an icey-grey.
Yes, typically when selling a house they'll have you go with more muted colors. I'm keeping the red until we completely redo the kitchen or sell it, though!

Ours are restrained gold from sherwin williams.
although it looks more yellow-y than the pic above.
Sounds like a GT kitchen to me - I approve!
We re actually in the midst of doing a full gut & renovation of the kitchen at our new house. When complete it will have dark espresso cabinets, light grey granite counters that have fleck of chocolate brown in it, white subway tile backsplash, light greyish tile floor, and a pale pear green on the little bit of wall space. It opens into the family room which will have the same pale pear green.
Our kitchen in our current house has white cabinets, dark grey corian counters, white beadboard backsplash and paneling, black & white checkerboard floor, and a deep blue on the walls that I think of as a cape cod blue. It is a 1920's bungalow so I think this style is perfect for the home.
