Update: Level 2 U/S and possible amnio today

I go in to see the Perinatoligist this afternoon for the level 2 ultrasound, genetic counseling and possible amnio. I'm not 100% set on getting the amnio unless the Dr see's markers on the u/s that make him think there is a possibility for DS. If he thinks all is well then we might just go without the amnio.

On the other hand, I might find out what I'm having today. So that is putting a little light on today's kind of nerve racking day. Oh and my dad is in town, so he gets to go with me too and see his grandchild for the first time today lol

 

Update: Dr said from what he can tell everything looks good, but there is still 1/3 of children that will have problems that don't show up on the u/s so that is why they offer the amnio. I have another appointment for June 16 to see the perinatoligst and if I want I will have an amnio then. 

Oh and we found it it's a boy!

    I know I'm late replying to this, but just wanted to say good luck today!  I am facing this same thing next Thursday and I am already a little nervous about it. I will be thinking of you, and hope you get the great news that everything looks good!

    Thanks Froggy. I have a couple of weeks to decide. I guess my whole thing in getting one is that I want to be prepared and do research if the baby does have DS before the baby gets here.

    The only reason I'm still on the fence about it is because the Dr said that 1/3 of babies will have problems that won't show up on an ultra sound so that is why they still offer the amnio. The only reason I would get it is to be able to prepare myself with research before the baby is born.
